Amy’s Story

A Journey Of Purpose

From a very young age, I had a strong desire to protect animals and nature. I was also born curious about traveling to places far away and learning about vastly different cultures from mine. It wasn’t until years later that I realized how I could make an impact using what I was passionate about. As I began to travel to places far and wide, I would arrive at a destination bursting with excitement to discover it ALL! Soon after, that feeling would dissipate, as I would witness the despair in the eyes of the local people, abandoned and injured animals, and environments riddled with pollution and trash. Not to mention the overcrowded areas of tourists everywhere I turned. After spending years working in the hospitality industry, I felt compelled to do something about it.

Shortly after, I took a trip to Tahiti and discovered what I was looking for. A hotel that was employing innovative ways to protect the ocean and surrounding biodiversity while delivering a unique, luxurious, and connected travel experience.  When I returned home – Green Luxe was born.  I am so grateful to be on this journey of purposeful travel and sustainable hospitality with you, and I hope you will join me in “turning the traveler into a conservationist.”

Amy Wald is the Founder and President of Green Luxe. She is a renowned speaker and leading expert in Sustainable Hospitality and holds degrees in Sustainable Business, Wildlife Management, and multiple sustainability accreditations like GSTC, LEED, WELL, and ISSP. Her years of hospitality work and education in sustainable tourism make her an expert at helping hospitality brands leverage a wide variety of platforms and causes to reach their sustainability goals, increase visibility, and differentiate from competitors.
